Episode (pg 160)...I feel for Bella here. She wants/needs to feel that she didn't "make up" this past life she felt. The love she never knew till she met Edward and his family. So she searches, searches for something, anything, to prove, that it happened...it was real. I really felt bad for Bella.
ReplyDeleteReaching a goal (chapt. 8)...ever reached your goal whether it's good or bad? In my youth, yes. Now that I'm older and a bit wiser, most goals are for the good. Bella's goal was to be reckless, so she could get Edward to "visit" her. Sad thing, Jacob was hooked into Bella's visits and falling more in love with her.
Trivia...how many times did Edward "talk" to Bella in chap. 8?
What I learned (pg 217)...the beginning of the "change" for Jacob.

ReplyDeleteHinano, Edward only talks once to Bella when she is learning to ride her motorcycle. But if you are counting sentences... I did not count that.
ReplyDeleteChapter 8 is one of my favs because it really shows how kind Jacob is and not pushy as he gets later.
The Second time Edward's voice makes an appearance is way cool! When I first read this book... I was really hoping that it was Edward. That somehow he found a way to watch over her....
Unfortunately, this is when Bella really starts getting lost in her 'hallucinations.'
pg 193 "I'd had the most amazing hallucination today."
A litter further "I'd take whatever pain that would cause me tonight without complaint."
At the end of Chap 8 is so FUNNY! Jacob and Bella talking about the BIG BEARs they want to see and about getting eaten.... Jake said that Bella probably taste good... and she was thinking.... he's not the first person to say so! LOL!
Note 201.... "lost moon" I just want to point out references to the moon!
Okay so Chapter 9 and the movies.... ai ya ya!!! Why didnt she just cancel the movie instead of having a 3 wheel thing!
I do want to point out the last paragraph on pg 218...."I wish that Jacob Black had been born my brother......etc"
---I am trying to keep note if she was leading him on.... So far, it seems like she made it known that they are not romantic but he is extremely important to her!!!
hmmmmm, this one might be a toss up depending on who you ask!!
Geeze, The Meadow scene was pretty scary!! I wish Bella could have lied better. She really is a bad liar even when her life is at staked!
It was almost sad with how happy she was to see Laurent in the beginning... almost like any VAMP would do to fill the void!!!
pg 242 "It was enormous-as tall as a horse, but thicker, and much more muscular.The long muzzle grimaced, revealing a line of dagger-like incisors."
I really do hope Summit does the Werewolves justice... don't give us overgrown wolves..
Chapter 11 is very sad.... I was really ticked at Jake. But I was puzzled with Meyer's choice of wordage on page 270 "Are you....... breaking up with me?"
I was *scratching my head* like where did that come from!
With that said.... HOOORAY Charlie... I have that written in my book!
I think he is an AWESOME dad. I think Edward may have some competition... I just might switch to Team Charlie!
I love when he picked up that phone and gave Billy an ear full!!
And with that said.... Bella should have made Jake grovel for forgiveness.... but I'll stop there because I kinda read ahead!!! eeks!
I like how Bella calls Jake her Sun.... and so later in chapt 11 when she says "it was like my sun imploded" while referring to the darkness in Jake it was sad!
Then on pg 273 "I'd thought Jake had been healing the hole in me.....He'd just been carving out his own hole..."
I like that paragraph... something very tangible in those words.
While on the subject of "holes".... the way Meyer's describes the hole... it like it has its own life. the later pages refer to the "hole" as if it's its own being.... Very cOooOOl!!!
Anyhow, I know I am jumping all over the place... so I am going to go to bed now!!! =) Night!
